 Listening to the echoes of time passing by, unveiling traces of life, sounds and movements. Fleeting moments which are harboured by the silent walls of the location it portrays. This 16mm film/installation, the outcome of a self-organized residency at the Groothandelsgebouw in Rotterdam. For many years, this cinema stood like a concrete skeleton atop the building. The architect fought hard for funding and eventually completed this remarkable cinematic space, a cinema with a window overlooking the heart of Rotterdam. Light entered the cinema, revealing floating dust, the soft texture of the floor, the rhythm of the chairs, and the velvet curtains.
